This is Tamara Appleton. She is a hilarious comedian that has everyone she comes across laughing within moments of meeting her. Her colourful personality is infectious, goofy and simultaneously sensitive, in particular to human rights issues. She draws people in with her natural charisma and my intuition tells me they stay for the element of unpredictable excitement that she brings to the table, what will she say/do next? Her personality is as colourful as the other art form she enjoys which is painting, often times portraits of herself. Her work encompasses a recurring theme of a bright, bold and beautiful colour palette, juxtaposed with subdued facial expressions. I wish I’d asked deeper questions around this contrast during our shoot but based off the observation, she has successfully evoked my curiosity and made me want to see more of her comedy and her paintings.
